In my almost 15 years in LA I’ve seen many a fire come knocking close to home, but never this close. The mushroom cloud in the above picture was shot from my roof this past Sunday with temperatures reaching 110 degrees. And as the resemblance to a nuclear holocaust suggests we all felt it in our lungs…and homesteads suffered, and the animals fled. I had to keep my windows shut and the air running to prevent ash from pouring in, but my car was not spared. Two days later, having been parked overnight this is what it looked like.

On the positive side this forced me to stay in and get on top of a long overdue update to the site. I separated the main portfolio from the blog and incorporated a lot of new images taken over the last three months. There have bee so many shoots that I wanted to talk about here. I am also constantly reading, researching, listening to music and this mad chaos of exploratory posts would no doubt clutter the portfolio galleries.
Now that it makes more sense I’ll be popping in here more often. And there are so many exciting things coming up that I’d like to just enjoy a week or so of summer poolside and watching movies. Madness sets in roughly September 18th. Lips sealed.
